George Wells was a well known motion picture screenwriter and producer. Wells was born in New York City in 1909 and educated at New York University. He wrote the screenplays for a number of movies between the 1940s and 1970s, including "Merton of the Movies" (1947), "Designing Woman" (1957), "Where the Boys Are" (1960), and "Cover Me Babe" (1970).
